eli manning 75 total yards passing...I think JB doing just fine tks

While Bullocks has made some mistakes, a couple blown coverages (or what we assume to be blown coverages), he has had a pretty decent year. Not great by any means, but decent none-the-less.

Here is the thing we as fans see things one way. However, who really knows what exactly goes on during a blown play? We assume because the CB (in this case its usually been Fred Thomas) releases his man he was supposed to have over the top help. However, how do we really know this? I would assume a couple key plays he was supposed to play over the top, but I think just as often you would be surprised that just as many times the corner blew the play.

I don't know exactly what went on, I can say this though. Fred Thomas has been less than steller this year. I can almost positively say that the long pass to Burress he was one-on-one and didn't have help. I can say that I believe that at least one of the long passes to Chad Johnson Bullocks was supposed to be over the top, other than that unless I had inside knowledge I would be very unsure and it would be a very unedjucated guess on my part.

Here is what I know. The coaching staff has never at any point this year tried to replace him. His backup, Bryan Scott isn't some scrub and started 2 years for Atlanta. Still I have never heard rumor or word about the coaching staff thinking about benching Bullocks.

Is Bullocks the new step child of the Saints? Man the defense had a great good today. I don't know why we keep hounding Bullocks? It is not entirely his fault. His bad angle was the only mistake that I saw, not to say he didn't make others. I think he is maturing into a great player. Why are there always so many posts about Bullocks, I think he is having a good season for us, and this is a defensive unit.

I agree with the original poster. I was excited about his play last year and thought he was going to be a key player in our defense this season. He has been disapointing IMO.

Teams continue to attack deep down the field on his side and he is no where near the play. Thomas deserves some of the blame, but good lord, the safety should be around the ball atleast....I understand that playing a cover-1 scheme makes it tougher on him, but it's not like were just dropping him back by himself on every play.

I saw Bullocks being used in a lot of blitzes today, and that basically means to me that the coaches would rather see him going after the QB than blowing coverages in the secondary.

I don't like to be too negative after a big road win, but the left side of our secondary has to avoid giving up the big plays. Bullocks needs to play better.

in a perfect world.... well we live on earth, and it Ain't no perfect world..

we have to deal with salary cap, and injuries, and what the weather is going to do.. this team is simply the best we have ever had. and legitimate contender.
Yes, there are places that can be improved upon.. but for what we have.. i'm not going to complain, just has room for improvement and being even better next season.

Yes he is one of the weakest links on the D right now. When that ball comes out he got to get over and provide help. Can you say La'Ron Landry. Hopefully against carolina Payton will start both veterans Bellamy and Stoutmire and see how that works out.
I think that would be better.

McKenzie
Craft
Bellamy
Stoutmire

i would rag on Fred Thomas before you try to start in on Bullocks , btw, we don't need negativism. No snaps in Saints territory yesterday! I don't ever think I've heard of anything like that ever! before!
