Well, at least that's not the weight bearing one of the pair. So, his recovery will be faster. Probably out for the season though, since it's so late.

Maybe we need to improve our footwork? Maybe it's a team wide thing we don't know how to plant and change direction properly and it's causing broken legs? Fibula fractures are often accompanied by ankle injuries. Idk just seems crazy that at least three people have broken their fibula is this one season alone.

I've heard the word "fibula" more this season than I have in the past 10 years. Weird that all these dudes are crackin' fibulas willy-nilly these days.

I don't think the fibula thing is anything about training. Most injuries are going to be knee, ankle, and muscle pulls. When you roll your ankle, or get the spikes caught in the turf, you're also at risk of a fracture.

We just happened to get a rash of them, but there have been quite a few across the league, and Earl Thomas broke his Tibia (6 month recovery, vs 6 weeks for Fibula).

Now, not wearing cleats/spikes might help. Harder to get caught in the turf when you're wearing regular trainers. But good luck getting football players to wear regular sneakers.

WTH? Why do we have so many broken fibulas this season?

When it rains.....

When we have games like this, there is usually at least one season ending injury. I was actually surprised not to hear anything after the game, then the news came today.
