Marcus Smart was great this year, but nobody was Jrue Holiday. He played well enough to be in the discussion for defensive MVP. The only thing keeping him back is playing for a losing team, which is a ridiculous idea given these are individual, not team awards. Jrue is so good that at times he baits players into plays so that he can create turnovers. Pound for pound (or inch for inch), he's the best defender in the league.

In this clip, one commentator mentioned that Harden only has a 33% FG rate vs Jrue. Holiday was 2nd team all defense in 2018; 1st team all defense in 2017.



Jrue and the new supporting cast (with their youth, defense and speed) will be a team that others cannot sleep on in the 2019/20 season!
