Just another day in New Orleans (4 Viewers)

“Can we figure out who started the fire”

“It was the match”

“Yes but who threw the match?”

“Just round up the matches and there will be no more fires”

“…k…”

tangentially NOLA related, but how fail is your REACTIVE utility company(Entergy) when winds from a weak front knocks down 3 power poles out in old Metairie and people lose power for 13hrs. That happened yesterday at 6pm over on Galleria Ave(now ABC WGNO headquarters). These poles were already slightly bent from Ida last year and wind gusts from this front was enough to knock them down.

This region deserves better than a 3rd world grid that doesn't get the proper upkeep. Drive around the area and you'll see transformer after transformer rusted to hell. Entergy sat up there with a straight face and lied to lawmakers late last year about their rusted utility tower that Ida crumpled which took out the cities entire grid and forced a complete re-routing of their systems to get people back online in multiple parishes.

Entergy is a REACTIVE power utility company instead PROACTIVE, they let stuff degrade so bad and only take after it happens action instead of doing proper analysis's and fixing things before they happen. No government in these parishes want to hold them accountable either.

I completely agree with you, but the same can be said about the majority of utility companies in this country. They are all reactive in the hopes that their profits will surpass their losses. It's pure greed that drive these SERVICE providers. Their short sightedness has blinded them to the fact that if they would spend the money to upgrade their services instead of pocketing it, their future earnings would be far greater!

It's funny how people think that approach is ridiculous on some issues but perfectly valid on others

I was about to say the same thing... What are we talking about... Guns? Citizens with criminal records of violence? Corrupt Politicians?

We know his answer, and it has nothing to do with addressing the problem... It only has to do with addressing every issue with his ideological preference regardless of outcome.

I was just making fun of how insanely dumb Cantrell sounds while trying to deflect something that can't be deflected with political speak.

It's honestly quite pathetic. Drive down West Napoleon toward Williams and you'll see pole and pole leaning. Some poles will fall onto houses should they give out, its so crazy we just accept this stuff. Not to make this a political thing but how can anyone in the state legislature in Baton Rouge sit up there in front of the camera every spring session and say out loud that "We need to stop people from leaving the state" then have random 13hr power outages because the premiere in utility company in the region isn't forced to continuously be ontop of their infrastructure.
