- The 2016 Saints rank 31st in kick return average. The Saints have returned one kickoff past the 30-yard line for the ENTIRE 2016 season. ONE.

- The Saints of course rank 32nd in blocked field goals. Remember the fun times last year when all we worried about on field goals was if whoever the Saints kicker was would miss the kick? Good times. I long for the days of just watching the Saints miss a 40yard field goal and not have to worry about the equivalent of a plane crash every week when the Saints are trying to acquire three points.

- The Saints rank 28th in field goals made percentage, which is pretty terrible considering they will play in a dome stadium 10 times this year.

- The Saints also rank 24th in kickoff coverage this year and have never been better than 23rd since 2007. Let that sink in. The Saints in the last decade haven't been able to even get in the top half of NFL coverage units on kickoffs even one time. Even the Saints defense, which has been an ongoing disaster, managed to have the gloriously random 2013 season when they finished fourth. The Saints special teams are so bad they can't even stumble into mediocrity for a minute by accident.

Every pre-season we would have a thread about how horrible special teams coverage looked, and people would come in here saying they just need time to gel because its pre-season and these are players on the edge of making a roster, and then I would post a table showing how we've ranked in the bottom of the league every single year in almost every ST metric

But I decided to just give up on it, because after the 3rd or 4th year in a row posting a new updated table showing no change, it got too depressing knowing we hadnt fired McMahon so nothing would improve.

And all this, despite the blessing for most of these years of having one of the league's most consistent, accurate, big-legged punters in Thomas Morstead. Imagine.

BTW, that's a very nice, semi-revisionist, wholly accurate tribute to Aaron Brooks in the same Ralph Malbrough column.

Its bad enough that we brought in a coach to coach our coach. Joe Vitt and Bill Johnson are loving them some Greg McMahon, he is acting as a bullet sponge.

If McMahon can't be fired, then he should be promoted. Whatever it takes to get him out of the way.

this entire organization is corrupt. just a bunch of has beens on our coaching staff that should have been gone years ago, and the alleged solution is to keep hiring people and not firing anyone. we're paying 8 million to our head coach for what appears to be a 3rd losing season in a row, and yet he's still burning our owner by making him fork out for more coaches instead of replacing his friends. no GM or president to put this in check because they're also all in on taking advantage of benson's state of mind. sad state of affairs and a shame no one there with the team's best interests in mind to intervene.

Wasn't W,. Smith supposed to be a D line coach

That's what happens when you hire one of your best friends and refuse to fire him on account of that friendship.
