He didn't say anything new or interesting except that he had devery henderson in on about 20 plays and had some plays called in to go specifficaly to him but he just wasn't open. No injuries and horn should be good to go next week

oh, he said that horn could have played this week but missed too much practice

what did he say about Copper?

You know the funny thing is, I think it may actually pay off to have Horn sit on the sidelines and watch this game. I may be over-analyzing here, but I just have to imagine that it pained him so much to sit there and wonder what WOULD HAVE happened if he was playing.

I am sure he felt that he let the team down when Copper fumbled because Joe knows there is no way he wouldve done that. Now he has bust his butt to get back into the game and start helping this team win games.

I think this move was very underrated but in the end will pay off. I really LOVE the fact that Payton tells the guys, no matter who you are! You will not play unless you practice!

I thought he wouldve exploded after the turnovers cost us the game this week. BDM

One of the challenges for any head coach is how to handle his team, in good times and bad. No situation and circumstance is the same -- after some losses he may rip the team, after others he may treat them with kid gloves. Just depends on how he reads the pulse of the team. I'm guessing that this is one of those times where, with a young team, he is looking to emphasize the positives, use the turnovers as a learning example of how games are lost, and thinks coming down hard is not the right approach this week. JMHO.

I'm pretty sure Devery would have gotten open a helluva lot more if he was starting. Starting Copper was the worst decision Payton has made on his watch so far.

So he would have miraculously been able to get open if he was starting, but couldn't because he didn't start ? riiiggghhhtttt.....

Did you not see what Devery did last week when he was starting? 3 catches for over 100 yards and 2 touchdowns!

He sure would have had a lot more plays to get open on if he was starting. Instead Payton puts Mr. Copper in there who fumbles the ball on the drive which would have forced overtime.

The starting lineup was exactly the same last week! You guys........

Copper started last week. Henderson had about the same number of plays last week as this week according to SP. Obviously Pittsburgh was ready for Devery, while Tampa was not last week. Did I forget anything ?
