The major pain point of the Carolina Panthers' defense this season has been the play of their defensive line - Specifically, the play of their defensive tackles. Going up against a juggernaut of an offense tonight, the Panthers cannot afford anything less than perfect from their defense, and they were faced with a situation where they could have been without one of their best defensive tackles. Luckily, it appears that will not be the case.

The Panthers' gameday inactives have been released ahead of their Monday Night game against the New Orleans Saints, and there is one very notable omission: Defensive tackle Kawann Short, who had been ruled doubtful due to a calf injury suffered in practice before being upgraded to questionable on Sunday. Short's presence will help bolster a defensive line that is counting on interior pressure to stop Saints quarterback Drew Brees.
