If anyone is interested, I am in a kayak fishing club that is raffling a Wilderness Systems Tarpon 130x.

I can accept Paypal and mail your tickets. If the tickets sell out quicker, they may raffle it sooner.

I'd love to buy one, but I imagine shipping would be about the same as buying one lol.

I'm interested. I'll buy a couple of chances for a good cause. PM me your paypal if you don't mind. BTW, we need to get in the water soon. I've been exploring the Hopedale marsh lately. I went yesterday and did ok despite dirty and very low water.

Redbone had a tournament yesterday... I did well, but so did everyone else LOL

Had a nice 28" red, but it's a slot only tournament. Lost biggest trout by .2 lb. It was in Point aux Chiens off Island Road. First time I fished there. Water was low, but made sight fishing really easy. The fish were going crazy.

I went out to Hopedale. The water was dirty and low but the fish were active enough to keep the day interesting. I caught a handful of trout and bass and lost one really good red. I think they were about to really turn on in the evening. My buddy stayed until sundown at shell beach and limited out on reds in the last 30 minutes of the day. Before that he had caught one bass.

I miss living in Nola and kayak fishing. To anyone debating buying a ticket, this is an excellent kayak.

I'm kinda hoping I win. I wouldn't mind having a smaller kayak when I want to take a quick trip. My Pro Angler 14 is so freakin big.

I still own a Perception Prism 14'. The 27" width and hull shape makes it a quick paddle. It's super narrow compared to most other SOTs. The Hobies are nice but weigh a ton. The trade off is more fishing and less paddling. I like being able to throw a yak on a roof rack. Wilderness Systems is probably who I would buy from if I was in the market for a new yak today. I've paddled a couple of their yaks and liked them all. 13'-16' seems ideal for marsh, large estuary or Gulf fishing.

I just bought my first yak about a 3 weeks ago. I went with a Feel Free Lure 10. I wasn't too interested in speed, I wanted a yak that was comfortable and stable. I want to be able to stand up, and with a 36" width I got all that in my yak. Of course I'm in Tennessee also, so fishing the creeks and lakes here is a lot different than the coastal waters in Louisiana. My yak weights 65 lbs and the wheel and keel feature makes it real easy to move around on land and while launching. Just installed my Lowrance yesterday..Good luck to all who bought a ticket
