Lake, a Bush friend from San Diego, says he gave the former University of Southern California Heisman Trophy-winning running back and his family $291,600 in cash, living arrangements and other benefits between November 2004 and January 2006 as part of a verbal agreement he and business partner Michael Michaels had with Bush, his stepfather, LaMar Griffin, and his mother, Denise Griffin, to launch New Era Sports and Entertainment.
