Khamenei calls elections a victory for Iran (and other non-news)

"With the scandalous defeat of America's policies in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and Afghanistan, America's threats are empty threats on an international scale."

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Friday called U.S. President George W. Bush's defeat in congressional elections a victory for Iran.

Bush has accused Iran of trying to make a nuclear bomb, being a state sponsor of terrorism and stoking sectarian conflict in Iraq, all charges Tehran denies.

"This issue (the elections) is not a purely domestic issue for America, but it is the defeat of Bush's hawkish policies in the world," Khamenei said in remarks reported by Iran's student news agency ISNA on Friday.

"Since Washington's hostile and hawkish policies have always been against the Iranian nation, this defeat is actually an obvious victory for the Iranian nation."

So in the next Iranian election, if Ahmadinejad is turned out by the Iranian electorate, what kind of commentary would Bush or our state Department give???

I have the feeling it would sound very very similar.

What do expect them to say???? "Please vote for the party that is threatening to bomb us!" "PLEASE!!!!"

This is non-news.

Oh, I get it.

Attention everyone! Attention!

The new fad on the EE Board:

NON-NEWS
:a_hit:

I thought the new fad was telling everybody what kind of politics you follow.

It is non-news, in that it isn't surprising, it has nothing to do with how we should govern ourselves, and there is no policy directive we should take from it.

In other non-news, there's a lot of empty seats at Auburn's stadium. Georgia leads 37 - 15 in the 4th quarter.

Terrorists have said a victory for Georgia is a victory for them unless Auburn wins at which time THAT'S a victory for them.

In other non-news...

LOS ANGELES - Lindsay Lohan tossed a four-letter expletive at fellow Hollywood run-around Paris Hilton earlier this week.

In a video posted Thursday on YouTube.com, Lohan was captured leaving a Los Angeles hotel inside which Hilton had reportedly been partying. The 20-year-old actress, as she was getting into the passenger side of an SUV, used the profanity to describe Hilton after an observer asked if they’d fought earlier.
