The previous, and only, time a team with a perfect record played in a Super Bowl, who was the quarterback standing in the way of that team's special place in the halls of Valhalla?

That's right, Billy Kilmer, ol' Furnace Face, quarterback of the original Saints, then on a journey that would take him from New Orleans to the District of Columbia, where he quarterbacked the 1972 Washington Redskins.

That season the Redskins were known as the "Over The Hill Gang," a collection of Golden Oldies assembled by Coach George Allen. Their march to Super Bowl VII was as much a surprise as this season's march to XLII by the New York Giants. Full Story – Picayune
