We have the best timber, hunting and fishing, and a third of the oil and gas in the state.

We gave you Huey Long which gave you guys LSU football in its current form and you know, roads and bridges, basic infrastructure you guys hadn’t ever seen.

I hope you aren't using any of the tax money from our six casinos, horse race track, and off track betting facility. They're all regulated by Baton Rouge and they make sure they get their piece.

Actually the State seems to spend little tax money in north LA. Here in Ouachita parish there is a spill way that got damaged about 4 years ago during a flood and the state originally promised funding to help with the repairs. That money still hasn't appeared so the lake it protects drains to almost bone dry every summer. There are numerous neighborhoods around Monroe that flood every 3-4 years and the state won't help to improve the drainage. Those areas now have close to 50% of the houses boarded up and unlivable.

Whats sad is that station would rather force it's audience to watch a trash Dallas Cowboys team over a half way decent Saints team. That town wants to be Dallas so bad it hurts. Its just another crappy city that should be in Arkansas.

This is one of the more asinine statements that I keep seeing show up in this forum. I will give a couple of things this area has done for the state. For one this part of the state has produced quite a few NFL football players and even some that have played for the Saints. This area also provided a place where many New Orleans refugees from Katrina could stay and still be in the state, and quite a few of those made this part of the state their permanent home. Just because you can off handedly dismiss the usefulness of half of the geography of this state and about a quarter of its people doesn't mean it makes any sense.

I made every one of these arguments repeatedly over a decade and it made no difference, I knew someone that was in the broadcasting business when I lived there and he said he knew for a fact that Jerry Jones was tight with all the station owners in the market at the time, don't know if that was true or not...
