Know who to pull for, week 10 (1 Viewer)

Thanks St Dude, and I agree with the difficulty of the Bears/Giants game (hoping for tie doesn't sit well with me) so I hope for the best. Knowing the Bears have a cake walk to the playoffs, I hope for the Saints to have the best position at the end, assuming things continue to go well for us, that means not having to play in Chicago or New Jersey in January. i.e. Bears lose to NY who loses to the Saints. But that means going 5-3 or 6-2 the rest of the way for the Bless You Boys, and that's a tall order.

Here's to Home-field-throughout, but it's a longshot.

I want the Giants to win that division because the eagles winning that division is in all likely hood the only way they get in the playoffs before us.

I want the Seahawks to beat the rams, one less team to worry about.

I disagree with this one. Let's go ahead and cede the NFC West to Seattle and hope they help knock St. Louis out of wild-card contention just in case the Saints don't hold on and win the division.

Agreed. Let's wipe one team out and let one team win that division. Then we can really root for the Rams next week against Carolina.

Totally missed on St Louis/Seattle and the 49ner's. Why would we want the niners to win just because we play them this year. Any moment the team can find is not good no matter how good we are. Remember W's breed confidence, and we don't need our opponents having confidence.

As for St. Louis/Seattle, before you pick someone let me ask, Who do you think will win the division? If Seattle wins the division we need St Louis to lose as many games as possible. Reason being they have an easier schedule than us. With only 2 wild cards going, and we end up finishing 10-6, the Rams could finish 11-5. And if the Panthers, or any of the NFC East teams finish 11-5, we don't make it. So with that being said we need Minnesota and St Louis to lose every game because their schedules are easier.

Guys, read the entire thread before posting comments, the replies matter.;)

San Fran will not make the playoffs, and strength of wins is a tie breaker factor for wild cards (although a minor one, it still is).

I think Seattle will take the division, their schedule is light and St. Louis has 4 losses already. Are you suggesting the Rams are going to go 7-1 or 6-2 the remainder of the season? It's possible but not likely. Seattle with a win over the Rams will have a much easier time gaining Home Field advantage than the Giants or the Saints with their schedule.

I don't think the Saints are going to have trouble getting a Wild Card spot with the way they've been playing, going 4-4 the rest of the way would probably be good enough.

I say we pull for the Seahawks as I believe they will win the west and I don't want to worry about the Rams taking our spot like in 2004. Also, I want the Giants to win as we don't play the Bears and we have our own chance to put a loss on the Giants later in the season.

I got back late last night. When I arrived at the boat this past Sunday in Nassau to hook up with friends, they were watching the saints who were up 31 - 14. I was a bit stunned. We then walked over from the Marina to the sportsbook at the casino to bet the later games. It certainly was a great week for know who to pull for with Dallas and Atlanta losing.

Thanks for taking over chatawaclan and you did a good job. I am not sure about the bears/giants game. I might pull for the bears. St Louis/Seattle is another tough game to call.

The good news with games like this that are hard to call, you cant get too disappointed. The worst thing that happens if Chicago wins is that the Giants lose.:D Thats not all that bad.

By the way, I did get to snorkle into the cave where they filmed Thunderball for those old enough to remember the movie and scene. Its in the Exumas near Nassau.

st dude my hats off to you. Classy as alwasys.:za_thanx:

I have gotta say Seattle is the team to root for as well... It will make it very hard for the Rams to pass us up if they go to 4-5, regardless of what we do...

I have to respectfully disagree about Seattle..

The Rams have lost the last 3 games and if they win today, they have games at Carolina and Minnesota, and a home game against the Bears left on their schedule. That's 3 more possible losses putting them at 7 losses for the season. I don't see them making the playoffs like they've been playing and Seattle is going to get in with their schedule, and a win today gives them a good chance at finishing 11-5 or 12-4 and with their best players coming back soon, yikes.

But really what it comes down to is: Do you think the Saints will be playing for a wildcard spot or homefield advantage or none of the above?

I listed Best case scenarios with the assumption the Saints would take the South, thus playing for Home field advantage. Obviously this is hoping for a lot and a Rams loss today would put them in line for finishing 8-8, not a bad out come for the Saints either.

<<<<< still singing "Here's what to look for/here's what to look for" every week. (I'm such a Cheap Seats slut.)
