The Saints need a W headed into the bye. As painful as it has been to watch the Saints get out of the gate with an 0-3 record, it would be even worse having to sit on a loss for two weeks during the bye following the game against San Diego. 1-3 during the bye week would provide a flicker of hope for the remaining 12 games that would await. 0-4 would be downright dreadful for the team and the fan base, with games after the off week against Carolina, Kansas City, Denver, and Seattle - just to name a few!

Offensive lineman Khalif Barnes has been added to the Saints roster, agreeing to terms on a one year deal first reported by NFL Network. To make room for Barnes on the roster the Saints placed LB Obum Gwachem on Injured Reserve. Barnes has been in on visits on two different occasions and even on the roster toward the end of the preseason, and is finally healthy enough to sign with the team.
