Ellerbe thing was just a tease, he's not playing this season.

....annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd Ellerbe's out.
Why didn't they just IR him?

He couldn't have come back. Rankins was the guy who we IR'd with the hopes that he'd return. Everyone else that got injured outside of PJ Williams we kept on the active roster.
I'm aware of that but why didn't they IR him in the first place. Rankings would be back by now anyway if that had happened
Is this true or just you yapping? I'd feel not so bad about this for one reason and one reason only.... Jamal Charles has experienced swelling in his knee and is questionable meaning his role could be reduced thus the need for Ellerbe goes down substantially.
#Saints rule out 6 players w/injuries: LB Stephone Anthony (new to the report with hamstring), D.Ellerbe, S.Moore, D.Breaux, A.Peat, D.Lasco https://t.co/rqj7epzgEm<SCRIPT charset=utf-8 src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" async></SCRIPT>
