What are the laws for a Salaried employees in Louisiana? Recently an employee used all of her sick time and had to miss time beyond her allotted sick time. She has yet to earn any vacation time. She missed time for bringing her son to the hospital, flu, and she had kidney stones in which she spent a day at the hospital/doctor doing tests. The extra day beyond her sick time was docked from her pay check.

The question is what are the laws regarding salaried employee's missing work without vacation or sick time to cover.

And does a company HAVE to credit K-time?

Louisiana doesn't have specific laws related to that topic - they adopt and adhere to federal regulations: See http://www.dol.gov/esa/whd/ particularly the link to "exempt employees".

What is K-time?

Employment at will-Good cause, bad cause, no cause.

Research that and I'm sure you'll find yourself with one less employee

K-time is time earned. There is no over time for salaried employees so if you work 50 hours in a week you earn 10 hours of ktime.
