Lakers' Magic Johnson says Pelicans did not act good faith (1 Viewer)

Klutch Sports is just a front for Lebron to be able to openly collude.

The Pelicans have all the leverage. Why settle for the Lakers’ junk when they can field offers from all teams (Boston) when the season ends? Oh, Davis doesn’t want to play in Boston? Too bad, let them figure it out after they send us Tatum and 3 first round draft picks.

I am so glad Demps didn't fold and take what the Lakers were offering. The Lakers' tampering with AD is as obvious to me as the No Call in New Orleans.

The current state of the NBA reminds me of all those years my kids were in little league sports and the parents who had connections with the league directors were able to stack their teams with whomever's kids they wanted. May as well take the top 60 NBA players and make 6 teams and let them play each other for the title.

Magic will get fired soon, just as Demps did. The Lakers won’t get AD unless Boston doesn’t offer Tatum. Maybe not even then.

So they will stumble along to a 10th place finish this year and next before they have another shot at AD.

Boston will keep AD because the Celtics will get to the Eastern Finals at least with him. AD always said he wanted to win. If that’s true, he ought to be happy because in Boston, because he will win. If he goes to LA, the year after next he will be propping up a 36 yo fading Lebron. It won’t be pretty. He’s stupid to want to go there. Now or later.

Demps getting fired shows that all along, trading AD wasn't a decision he would be allowed to make. The NBA doesnt know how the Bensons work, but we do. Rich Paul has another thing coming if he thinks he's going to bully Mickey Loomis around.

Boston or either Toronto or perhaps Milwaukee will make the Eastern Finals this season, the Celtics were a very good team last season that gave Lebron's Cavs all they could handle in the Eastern Conference Finals in a 7-game series. In fact, the Celtics probably should've have won that series because they might've given Warriors a better NBA Finals. Celtics could use a powerful frontman like AD but it's not having him is an absolute necessity for their team. He provides that extra 10-20% superstar push where a very good team that wins 45-50 games regularly becomes an elite, dynasty-level team that wins or contends for NBA Titles but could've gotten their anyway with a little more hard work, a bit extra luck and a few breaks going their way. Boston has a great HC in Brad Stevens who's done an excellent job winning games and over-achieving without the luxury of high-priced, overhyped FA's. They have good ownership, good scouting department, pick up good FA's who don't break the bank but fulfill the team's needs and requirements set up for them. That's why the Celtics are the NBA's version of New York Yankees, and why for a long time until early 2000's, they were the closest thing to a sure thing in Boston sports for decades, while the Patriots always seemed to underachieve in postseason and the Red Sox routinely invented ways to lose countless ALCS or World Series in spectacular fashion until 2004. 1967, 1975, 1978, 1986 the Red Sox should've won the WS that year.
