Worst time for this to happen the lakers are having one of there worst seasons ever. They might miss the playoffs for the first time in almost 60 years.

What do you think finally pushed him over the edge?

Dude was a great owner, who really understood that a sports team should reflect its cities' identity. Thanks for the memories Dr Buss.

He was a good owner and seemed to be a good man. I always enjoyed watching him on High Stakes Poker. He held his own against some of the giants of the poker community.

In Lakers franchise history, the Lakers have only missed the playoffs a total of 5 times.

The first time was in 1957-1958.

The second time was in 1974-1975

The third was the following year, 1975-1976.

The fourth time was in 1993-1994.

The fifth and only time (as of today) was in 2004-2005.
the NBA lost a great owner today

Rest In Peace to the owner of one of the most successful franchises in NBA history. Great man he will be remembered.
