So here's the deal:

My friends and I are headed to Vegas August 11-14. There will definitely be 5 of us, but there might be as many as 8. We definitely want to be on the strip, preferably the South part. We really don't care how nice the room is, as we'll only be using it to sleep and shower (so as long as it's clean). We want the hotel to have a nice pool though. We'd like to all be in one room (sleeping on the couches, etc.).

Any suggestions? Any good deals?

I would suggest the MGM (south Strip). You can get a good deal, probably get 2 rooms for about $59/night midweek. They have a huge pool complex with 5 different pools along with a special pool area for young folks named Wet Republic.

Mandalay Bay would be another south strip option but it will be more expensive. Pool area there is great but CROWDED.

fatwallet.com has a Vegas deal section.
http://slickdeals.net/ has some Vegas deals.

Heading out there next week.

The Golden Nugget on Fremont street is my favorite. While it is not on the new strip it is on the old strip which is all made new again. Talk about a pool. They have an aquarium with sharks, (7 and 8 foot), and other fish with a slide that goes through it. You can be on the new strip in like 5 minutes. Something like $80.00 bucks a night or less.

I am going to Vegas for the 4th and staying at the Aria. It is a new property in a development called "City Center". I have not yet seen it in person but i have heard it is awesome. It is a little more expensive but worth it IMO. You being 22 years old need to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel, without a doubt the best pool "scenery" wise and people are partying there non stop. And if you are there for Sunday there is ReHab a pool party where everyone is invited no matter if you are staying @ the hard rock or not. It is an awesome party! Another thing, don't go cheap on the room you will regret it. You have 5-8 people going so that should be plenty enough people to differ the cost of the room in to a manageable cost for everyone.

Venetian has cheap suites and can accomodate 8. They also have a seperate pool area that has a DJ and is topless.

Hard Rock pool is too crowded. Mandalay Bay has a huge pool and is prob my favorite on the strip.

Awesome pool to just relax at would be Green Valley Ranch, but its not on the strip.

Yeah too many hot half naked chicks is always a problem...dude is 22 and isn't going on a "family" vacation, Hard Rock is where it is at. Mandalay bay has a bad*** pool too though.

We stayed at Harrah's the last time we went. The rooms are very reasonable & it's right in the middle of everything. Harrah's owns a bunch of hotels there & they have a free shuttle you can take between the hotels. You can also take the monorail to get around.

I stayed at the excalibur, and it was nice enough. Whatever you do, do not take a cab anywhere. You will pay out your rear. They have trolley buses that will stop at all casinos.

I just got back from Las Vegas over the Memorial Day weekend. Be forewarned that the Strip (Las Vegas Blvd.) is like a parking lot even at the best of times. It would be like trying to drive down Canal St. during a parade. It took forever to get around.
Have a great time there. One tip: If you are out for adult fun, avoid the CircusCircus as they have become a "family oriented" casino resort. I have not been there but have heard this from others who have.
