It sounds like the defense needs to stop resting on their laurels just because Brees is under center. We saw the same thing happen when Bridgewater filled in.

Curious about the winning percentage of the opposing teams in comparison. Perhaps the average offensive production of the teams beat without Brees. Unless there really is a different attitude taken by the defense leading to a huge difference in production.

Add to that without either M.T or Brees last two years Saints are 10-2. Most teams that are good would consider it an accomplishment just to hover around the .500 mark in such circumstances.

Last year Seattle, Chicago, were pretty good and the Cowboys were SuperBowl bound according to the media when the Saints beat em.

Actually it has more to do with timing.

Our defense has been putrid the first 2-3 games the last few years.
Then come Oct-Nov......we look like the best defense in the league.
Same pattern, 4 years in a row.
And Brees has been out in late Sept-Oct-Nov.
