Speculation Latest Kamara update (…doesn’t look good, WhoDats)! 😔 (1 Viewer)

I’m going out on a limb and calling probation of a few years and a large fine, plus huge incoming civil suit. His attorney not pleading to jail time and he a first time offender no record. Seen guys with records do worse and not get jail time on first offense.

You do the crime you do the time.

Don't care if your rich or famous.
We shouldn't pretend that the law is the law and applies equally to everybody.

Same for media coverage.

Laws ALWAYS can be bent and media coverage can turn a blind eye depending on what you look like, and/or your status, and/or who you know.

If there had been video released of AP beating his kid with a stick, he would’ve gotten the Rice treatment
The interesting thing about Ray Rice's damning TMZ knockout video of his then-fiance now wife is that according to the then-casino general manager and head of security, Roger Goodell saw the full, uncut, unedited version of Rice punching his wife in summer of 2013 when Goodell and NFL FO executives were claiming they only saw previously edited clips that of Rice getting out of the casino elevator and dragging his wife, clips that were considered terrible but not irrevocably career-destroying the later video of him punching his wife inside the elevator proved to be. If that more damning, violent attack video of him striking his future wife inside the casino never got released, the "Rice treatment" never happens and very probably, he plays for another NFL team for another 2-3 seasons.

Both men claimed Goodell saw it, was aware of the whole situation, the "social optics", but made attempts to suppress, and prevent the more damaging Rice/fiance video from being released until TMZ forced his hand by mass-releasing it online and once again, and not for the last time, Goodell and NFL FO were forced to scramble into damage control.

This all lines up with the Kamara story in the beginning. Dude(who was drunk) was talking slick to one of Kamara female friends(which by itself is enough to get your head kicked in) then proceeded to go on the elevator with them, Kamara stopped him because of that. Then his friend hit him and we know the rest. Buddy(I refuse to call him a victim) went to the hospital and the only name he could remember is Alvin Kamara.(Really!)

You see that 10 million dollar lawsuit he filed, that is what he really wants. Then dudes lawyer filed that before the criminal trial started.

This is some great insight on to why crime in American cities has gotten so bad. There's no more retaliation in equal measure. Everything has to be one upped which eventually leads to shootings.

Yep, the perpetrator becomes the victim and vice versa.

Ray Lewis, Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson...and the list goes on

If you are a high profile player, with high profile money, you can buy your way out of anything.

That being said, the Saints often stay away or move on from these types of players. I think his future with the Saints will be coming to a close. We have loads of depth at the position now, and Miller looking to take the entire role.

It sucks because Kamara is our chain mover, we really need our young talent to step up and hopefully fill the hole that he will be leaving if this is the route we go.

I don't think Alvin will be a Saint in 2024, one way or another. Hopefully, he returns at some point this season and preforms at a high level is traded for a high draft pick.

I really have no opinion regarding the case.

But I am at the point that I have not expectations of contributions of Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas for this season.

Whatever contribution both players can make, it will be a plus for me.

Just about all media is dirty nowadays. In this case, it is very likely the victim (plaintiff in civil suit) or his attorney has a PR firm feeding crap to the internet.

If you want your stomach to turn, read Mike Leach's book Swing Your Sword, especially the chapter about the Craig James thing. Dirty, dirty, dirty. When you read stuff on the internet, think about who is pulling the strings and why.

There are some safe media havens still. If some bombshell about Kamara's legal fate gets reported on NOLA local television news, or in the Times-Picayune/Advocate ... I'd accept that without question.

I saw the video...didn't look bad on AK. From his perspective and how he was talking afterwards he felt as if he was in a "run of the mill" fight and won - Oblivious to the fact that Lammons tap danced on dudes head.
