There is no such thing as an accidental overdose. Either it was suicide (intentionally tried to kill himself by taking a lot of drugs) or it was an overdose (took too much of a drug while abusing it). Accidental overdose is a word used by estate attorneys and PR people while attempting to make the situation sound better.

well....that's kinda what I'm saying.....that he didn't mean to kill himself. Splitting hairs on this comment.

My entire point is that playing the Joker didn't drive this guy crazy. He had drug problems long before he took the role.

I remember them saying something about Jack Nicholson "warned" Ledger about playing the Joker although it didn't appear that he explained why.

No, Nicholson warned him about the sleeping pills he was taking, stating that he (Nicholson) almost died while taking them. Something about nearly driving off a cliff because of the effects of the sleeping meds or something...
