I will play...

2009- C+. I want to give it a better grade, but we didnt have enough picks. 2 guys in this draft HELPED US WIN A SUPER BOWL. Morestead is an All-Pro punter and arguably the best in the league. I still hold out hope for Jenkins. But he was a key cog to helping us win in 2009.

2010- C+ also. This could go up if Charles Brown amounts to anything this year, but for now he doesnt. PRob, like Jenkins i still hold out hope. Jimmy Graham saves this draft from being a C-/D+.

In summary. The drafts classes are on the higher end of average. They arent the worst drafts we have seen, but clearly far from being the best. We did land some All Pro/Pro Bowl players that could be best in the game when all is said and done...something to be said for that.

Malcolm Jenkins and Thomas morstead were both good picks....others not so much.

Patrick Robinson and jimmy graham were good picks....others...not so much

4 picks in 09...landed on 2...I'll give it a b+ overall

Jimmy graham makes the 2010 draft....draft a hall of fame talent makes any draft at least an A imo

2009 - C- Moorstead was a great find. Jenkins is a decent starter with some potential yet. But only two players to contribute. Slightly below average.

2010 - B+ (really, incomplete) Jimmy Graham is a stud. PRob has had his ups and downs but last year may have been an anomoly. Charles Brown? He's THE incomplete. We'll know in a few months (Note: If Brown doesn't start this year, downgrade this to a B-)

I read somewhere where GM's consider a draft to be OUTSTANDING if they get 3 long term starters from it.

2009 - D+ This would be an F other than Morestead. Jenkins hasn't played anywhere close to his 1st round value. Jenkins apologists would even agree to that.

2010 - B Jimmy Graham's ridiculously great value as a third rounder brought the grade up a lot. Pat Robinson has been extremely hit-or-miss. Charles Brown will let us know what he brings to the table this season. I can't believe Canfield's still hanging around the roster.

2009: D+. We were hindered with picks. Jenkins has been decent, but not the caliber of player you'd want from a mid first rounder up to this point. Morstead has been money and has made a tremendous impact obviously. With that said, though we all love Morstead, he's still just a punter. We completely wiffed on the Wake Forest pair.

2010: C+. The jury is still out on Robinson. At worst though, he's a decent corner that is not a total disaster, though you'd still like to do better in round 1. We hit the jackpot with Graham obviously and the jury is still out on Brown. The rest of the picks were wastes. Graham alone keeps this draft from being a D.

Anyone else suddenly become slightly less excited about the next two days after reading these lists? :hihi:

I cant believe you just said "just a punter."

The dude is a weapon. He has the ability and power to not only completely change the field, but change the outcome of games. His 60 yard booms have gotten us out of jams and YES...WON US GAMES.

This is like saying, Morton Andersen was "just a kicker."

But you said just a punter! :hihi:

I didn't quite want it to sound like I don't appreciate Morestead. I was just pointing out that he's a specialist rather than a player that's on the field for 60+ plays. He makes a tremendous impact on the game, for what he does, but his impact on the game isn't quite as big as a QB, RB, WR, etc. He has indeed single-handidly won a game or two for us and as I said in my summary, he's been money.

You gave us a C+ for that year's draft. Let's say, instead of Morestead in that spot, it was Jimmy Graham. Something tells me, you would have given a higher grade for that draft class. Even though both players are basically as good as they can be at their position, the tight end gets the higher grade because he is on the field the entire game and is more likely the impact a game and do so more frequently.

If Jimmy Graham wouldve kicked the onside kick that changed the tone of the Super Bowl....yes, i would have.

I may have been "nice" with my grade, but i cant discout the fact that 2 players from that draft played big parts in bringing home the Lombardi.

How can anyone give the team anything less than an A when they came out of those drafts with 2 probowlers.

Let's not forget the 2009 pick(s?) that brought us Jeremy Shockey. The same Jeremy Shockey who caught what amounted to the game winning Super Bowl catch.

2009 draft is a solid B+ for me because the two Wake Forest clowns didn't amount to anything but we got three pretty good contributors from it that helped us win a Super Bowl.

If we had picked Austin Collie and Gerald McGrath instead of wasting the picks on the Wake dudes, it would have been and A or A+
