Lil’Jordan Humphrey is one of the names that stands out among the crew of undrafted rookie free agents to come to New Orleans following the 2019 NFL Draft. And it’s not just because of the name though that certainly sticks in your mind. LJH was one of the bigger named receivers to fall through the cracks in the draft.
The list he’s on in the tweet from Pro Football Focus that came out on Friday, May 17, is telling. The list shows ratings for the best receivers in college football last year on third and fourth down. They’re receivers that excelled in the slot and a few were names we talked about here in Who Dat Dish as potential draft picks.
But of these five receivers who were so good on third and fourth down, only two were drafted. The other three, LJH included, were picked up later as undrafted free agents. Greg Dortch out of Wake Forest was picked up by the New York Jets. Jamarius Way, a South Alabama product, was invited to rookie minicamp with the Packers but wasn’t signed. He’s actually still a free agent having played two and a half hours down the road in Mobile.
