Heard his TED talk the other day and was intrigued. That one could become totally transformed in thinking by a modification to sensory perceptions, is rather amazing to think about. Especially when you consider the rapid advance of tech and future possibilities. Geordi Laforge was just the tip of the iceberg.

Yes, so now he has sounds vibrating through his skull into his hearing whenever he looks at anything. Consequently, looking at things has changed for him so that something is pleasant or bothersome based on how it is perceived in entirety. Also, he can hear ranges outside of visible spectrum adding even more to his ability.
 
thats an alien. I can tell even without the antenna.
