Food was hit and miss for sure
It just had the feel of a neighborhood New Orleans corner dive
Those places seem to be fading away

Ive actually had a lunch there a couple times in the years since, but as has been mentioned, their food is less than memorable.. hence the association with the Storm 15 yrs ago for me.

Yeah, the frozen mugs for beer was really the only reason to go there. There is much better food close by at Katie's or Mandina's.

Yeah, different places. But people confuse them all the time. I've never actually been to Liuzza's by the Track. Liuzza's on Bienville is an old dive/neighborhood restaurant. It's been around forever. The food is pretty meh at best and bad at times. It's real claim to fame is that they always had bit glass goblets that they kept frozen to put your beer in. That and the fact that they only took cash to stop those nosy IRS and Louisiana Department of Revenue people from messing with their taxes.

Never ate at any of the Liuzza's (apparently they may not be connected to one another) but the schooners of beer at the one by the track were quite tasty.

Sadly, I saw that Casablanca in Metairie shut down recently. I'm not Jewish, but their food was always good. Fresh cut fries were wonderful.
