Interesting to look back and see who made it, who didn't and with whom.

I had completely forgotten that Drew and Deuce came out of the same draft. Goes to show the difference in longevity by position. Deuce is done, LT is on a fast downslide, and Drew is just hitting the peak of his career. Mama, don't let your babies grow up to be running backs.....

Brees or Jay Feidler.....wow the draft is a monster lol......what a deal the chargers got in getting Brees and LT.....to bad for them. And what would have happend if the Falcons kept Brees......or Favre for that matter lol.

Funny how the game changes. Although I do remember Deuce being pretty damn fast against Atlanta his rookie year and then in 2002...tore through Green Bay like it was nobody's business

deuce was a hell of a reciever in college too. i remember him catching two long TDs in a game against tulane back in 00'.

i also never knew that tomlinson ran a 4.36. i do remember reading about his 406 yd rushing game against utep though.

Wow, it's crazy how alot of the better players are in the lower 15 of the draft preditions. Seymour, Brees, McAllister, Shaun Rogers, etc.

Deuce ran back kicks back in the day. Haslett probably screwed his career by (allegedly) making Deuce add on extra pounds. Made him a bit heavy for the kind of runner Deuce was.

I think that being big as a runner is over rated. I could be imagining things, but it seems that the smaller guys tend to have longer careers and are more successful as they age (relative to larger backs). This, in my mind, makes sense because smaller backs will tend to take on fewer tacklers and, naturally, they are putting less stress on their joints.

Good read. So many defenders out of that draft, really makes you think.
