You are spot on lost my head a little bit with the early start on Carr although I don't think the Jairus Byrd deal made them gun shy you just cant account for the fact that sometimes things don't work out and I'm not advocating for them to sign a specific one player or our guys, they know what they have and don't have and imo have earned the benefit of the doubtThe Saints have never been early buyers in the FA period, Loomis and Co wait for the market to set. Most of the current signing look like teams are willing to let said players walk.
Who cares? You know, if you need to, you can go be a Denver fan now.
Nah, we willUr joking right? We’re over the damn cap. Were not going to be able to sign anyone
Agreed. Right now, personally, I jus want us to work out something to keep MT n resign Kaden Eliss. Those Tuttle and Onyemata contracts are too high. No way is Onyemata worth 12mill/year. Our run defense was pretty bad last year, he hasn't been the same since popping hot. Saints are going to need a 2017 type draft to fill these voids. Likely gonna have to go defense first two picks unless you can find a value guy later in free agency.
Based on what I read here sometimes, we can do whatever we want. We're never at a disadvantage and will always get exactly who and what we want. We're the only ones who can manage the cap the way we do. Also, the cap only goes up for us, other teams don't get more cap space when we do.You do know we cannot just sign anyone you want right?
They gave us the 24 rank run defense. It's true that the Saints had to make some tough decisions with their young talent due to salary cap constraints. While some may argue that Onyemata and Tuttle were not worth overpaying for, it's still unfortunate to lose players who were contributing to the team. The Saints will have to continue to develop young talent and make shrewd moves in free agency to remain competitive.
Jesus… stay in school kids…..,’!,?.of course , but , I'd have hoped that we wouldn't have gotten so distracted by the Carr deal that we wouldn't be prepared to make moves to address DL depth at start of free agency. This is how we position the Team for BPA in the draft.
It is to the saints credit that folks are poaching our guys , It's to Loomis' credit that folks are copying our strategy.
If he wants to impress me now, sign/acquire good players at the many other positions of need. You do realize we signed a franchise quarterback while having the least salary cap room in the league. Nothing is more Loomis than that.
