LSU Basketball 2019-20 Thread (1 Viewer)

A few weeks ago I would have called you crazy but they are starting to improve and with the young guys getting minutes early there is cause for optimism....but they still need to cut down on the turnovers....we will see....
They definitely miss Waters.

Anybody just catch the Miss St game? Wow, what an ending!

Mays with a last second buzzer beater to take the victory at the PMAC over Miss State.
Quite a heart-stopper tonight! Wow!!! :9:

After the poor 3 point shooting in the second half, that shot was fantastic.

Yes it was amazing!
But the Tigers are going to need some hot hands from the arc the rest of the season to have any chance to repeat last year's success.
We were somewhere like 2-21 in 3-point attempts. Gotta fix that quickly.

Tigers beat the Aggies in College Station tonight in OT. Way too many turnovers(19) allowed the Aggies to stay in the game and get into OT. LSU is averaging 13.75 turnovers per game. Yikes.

A whole lot of close games lately. Not high scoring much, either. Plenty of sloppiness going around.

Beware the team that plays poorly and still managed to win...
Perhaps... but I'd much rather see fewer turnovers and more buckets from the arc and free throw line. :covri:

True....but unless they improve in the ball handling/security area, they will not go far...and a road win in the SEC is always a good win....but from a personnel standpoint they should be able to beat A&M easily....they are underwhelming, underachieving right now...hopefully that changes....

Didn't we do this last year? Sloppy start, close games, slow progress?

But we also had Waters & Reid to get us through the tough games like the ones that we'll be seeing soon.

We don't have Marlon Taylor right now. I don't know when/if he's coming back.

This true. It is not a philosophy that will take you deep into the playoffs. Eventually they're going to have to get their act together.

Early this year, they lose these kinds of games. A close loss to VCU, SC, etc to what we have seen the last couple weeks is definite growth. The turnovers are a liability. The lobbing threes can be a liability. They are very good off the glass, though and they are gritty and tough on the finish. Plus, they're doing it without their best defender. These moments when they win the last 4 minutes of a game to seal the victory however are what all championship teams have.
