Tommie Robinson will coach RBs. Mickey Joseph will coach WRs. It is believed that Robinson will take over as Recruiting Coordinator. On paper these appear to be excellent hires. Joseph (older brother of new Denver Broncos HC, Vance) will be in charge of NOLA recruiting. Robinson has coached RBs at Miami, Arizona Cardinals, USC, Texas and recently did a second stunt at USC. He has contacts all over the place, but this no doubt is for his roots in Texas, specifically Houston.

We also saw a couple people follow Canada from Pitt as GA/Consultant types. I'll try to dig up the names unless someone beats me to it.

Mickey was an absolute stud running the triple-option veer offense at Shaw. I was there as a student when both he and Vance played. Any word on Joseph's recruiting abilities?

Always help that your brother is an NFL HC . Appearance of having "inside trak" So to speak...

I think everyone is assuming he's at least as good as Juluke. I know he's been very involved in the community there, especially post-Katrina. We will have to see how it shakes out.

Here's a good article on the interview with Mickey Joseph. Looks like he had a chance to follow his brother to the Broncos, but chose college instead.

Here's a snippet about the rumored boycott from New Orleans high school coaches:

On his thoughts about bridging the gap with the perceived issues in New Orleans…
“First of all, I have strong relationships with those coaches in New Orleans. I have been recruiting New Orleans since 1999. I either grew up with those guys or mentored the guys along the way. I have spoken to those guys and there was never a meeting discussed about a boycott. Those guys are in it for the kids. The meeting was going to take place because what they are trying to do is educate each other about the recruiting game and also how to get some financial help to get the kids to these camps. There are a lot of kids in New Orleans that cannot afford $35 or $40 to get to a camp. They were getting together to try and get grants written. Once negative things got written it got carried on. It was never going to be that after talking to those guys at the respective high schools.”
