LSU still 2 in polls (1 Viewer)

Yea Flynn's got talent, he wasn't no slouch, he was the 16th ranked QB(Russell was the 6th) according to rivals...

Also in that class, Quinn(10) Leak(2),Booty(NR), M. Ryan, BC(25), Sam Keller(9), Woodson(7)

Kyle Wright was the number 1 QB and it's safe to say he didn't live up to that spot.

This is a loaded year for quarterbacks and overall every position for the next NFL Draft. I mean, compared to last years draft (which I think was one of the weakest ones in recent memory) this one is going to be a goldmine of talent. Where do you think Flynn goes? 2nd round?

Well it depends on how good this year goes, I mean certainly from the way it looks(the weapons and offense) I expect him to have a fantastic year but he still has to go out there and and prove it and lead this LSU team, if he does that and has a good combine I think he could go anywhere from the 2nd or 3rd...

He's got the size 6'3 215-220,and has a good arm and is very accurate and has the athleticism and quickness to take off and run...He's just behind on actual game time experience but if he goes out and shows it this year, he'll get some serious looks.

LSU are right were they should be behind THE BEST TEAM #1 USC.

Back it up. Outline the basis for USC being the better team. Show me the objective measures which point to USC being better than LSU.

Last year's record? Nope.
Defending champions? Nope.
---------------------------
This year's record? Nope.
Strength of schedule? Nope.
Margin of victory? Nope.
Total offense? Nope.
Scoring offense? Nope.
Total defense? Nope.
Scoring defense? Nope.

LSU owns the statistical advantage in every category. By a lot.

So what do you have to back up your claim? Pete Carroll's winning smile?

<HR style="COLOR: #1e2127" SIZE=1>Week 1:
USC 38, Idaho 10
LSU 45, MSU 0
Idaho went on to beat CAL POLY (ooooh) by 7, then lose to Washington St. by 17.
MSU went on to beat Tulane by 21 and AUBURN by 5.

Week 2:
LSU 48, #9 VA Tech 7
USC took a leisurely bye week eating pizza with Herbstreit & Musberger and getting haircuts and such.

Week 3:
LSU 44, MTSU 0 (a team that put 42 on #9 Louisville last week)
USC 49, #14 Nebraska 31 (a team that beat Wake Forest by THREE last week)

A 41 point victory over #9 < an 18 point victory over #14, of course. Because OMHVTISOVERRATED!!!!!!!

LSU has allowed 7 points all season. USC gave up 10 to IDAHO.

LSU has scored 50 more points than USC.
LSU has allowed 34 fewer points than USC.

John David Booty:
350 yards passing, 64.5 comp %, 5 TD, 1 INT, 135.32 rating

LSU's BACKUP QB, Ryan Perrilloux:
403 yards passing, 81.8 comp %, 6 TD, 1 INT, 238.34 rating

CFB math, it doesn't work. That's why the games are played on the field.

Weak.

Those stats were compiled during games played on the field. Until and unless LSU and USC play head to head, those are the best measures anyone can go by. They are, in fact, the only measures that can be considered anything resembling objective.

OMG you're all obssessessesed with USC. No need to run smack on Tennessee, I'm already aware of their incompetence. See how I just cut you off at the knees with the self-deprecation? Exactly.

As far as my CFB math being lame, it really doesn't matter is all I am saying. You said it yourself, until the game is played it's the best tool you have. I'll give you that to a certain degree, but there are so many flaws this early in the season. The sample size isn't really a good measuring stick. But until that game is played on the field both sides really just need to worry about running the table and winning all their games.

I'd just ask that you would wait until at least the 5th or 6th week before you compare all schedules and try and do your CFB math. You can't base everything off 3 weeks. I mean really, the cracks at USC having on off-week? Come on, that's what's lame. I mean I know you personally wouldn't punish a team for an off week, but I suspect plenty of people would follow your point and do just that.

We will all have to wait until the NCG.
