Game could be moved to Tiger Stadium due to Hurricane Matthew.

A source tells Geaux247 that LSU and Florida officials have met this morning regarding the storm that could impact Gainesville with tropical storm conditions expected late Thursday and into Friday with the storm’s current track.

The SEC office is currently in communication with both Florida and LSU regarding the storm and how it could potentially affect the game this weekend that is scheduled to kick off at Noon ET.

A source tells Geaux247 that there has been some preliminary discussion regarding the possibility of moving the game that could also include relocating it to Baton Rouge among other places. However, further discussions will take place this afternoon to examine all options.

I vote for the game to change to Tiger Stadium and kick-off at 7 pm. Its not the same to see Tigers play an 11 am game.
Me too.

just rotate the game back to Florida for the next two years and we're even.

Noon games are for the Big 10. They like to get their games out of the way so they can get home and watch real teams play at night.

Could not agree more. I will be in the deer stand all day. Hate these early games during hunting season.

I expect they will change the game today. Matthew continues to trend closer and closer to the eastern Florida coast; if not making landfall and riding up the coast.

A change to 7pm would be great, but I don't see why that would happen since the game is already locked in to the CBS network lineup at 11am Central.. We all know that the SEC & LSU are beholden to the almighty dollar first and foremost, and whenever the TV networks tell them to play, that's when they play.. The only scenario where I could see it changing is if they determine that Florida needs more time to get to BR and get ready for the game, but since we're still early in the week , I don't see that being the case.

Game is staying in Gainesville. :jpshakehead:

LSU’s football game against Florida on Saturday will not be moved from Gainesville at The Swamp.

The news came down from the Florida administration on Wednesday afternoon, with an additional update set for 12 p.m. CST on Thursday.

The release said the game would not be moved out of Gainesville, though the time of kickoff could be pushed back as they continue to track Hurricane Matthew. Kickoff will remain scheduled for 11 a.m. CST and will be televised on the SEC Network, unless the game is pushed.

Another source is saying that if game can't be played on Sat, then it will be resked for later this season on the wknd when LSU is supposed to play South Alabama and Fl is supposed to play Presbyterian ... Fl will pay those two schools off to resked the games if need be.

Sounds like Florida is being a bunch of stubborn a**es, refusing to move the game since they know our fans can't travel as easily into a possible active hurricane situation .

ETA: Yall know exactly what will happen-- the game WILL get cancelled this wknd, and LSU will wind up with 3 straight SEC road games in Nov-- Ark, FL, and A&M, and Coach O will be out the door... Joe Alleva is a %$#*&#. %$!#&, Florida is obviously controlling all the strings here.

Shame on the SEC...tell Florida where they will play because of safety. There's zero reason to keep it in FL and cancel it

Paying those schools doesn't recoup lost home game revenue for LSU though. I can't see anyway LSU would be ok with losing a home game because the UF administrators are a bunch of idiots. UF stands to lose as well as many fans may not be able to attend the game. This graphic shows potential power outages from Matthew. Gainesville is in the 30-40% area.
