So weve began to see many articles posted around as of late about how great Thomas is already and hes only a rookie, hoever during the season you never heard of how much he was balling out...it was never mentioned. All things aside we have a truly great reciever on our hands that will win jump balls for us and just get open(Something we need against good defences AKA remeber the years we couldnt beat seattle i think we can now with this young man). On nfl.com they have an article about top 10 recievers getting seperation and etc... heres thomas tidbit:

7) Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints (2.38 separation at target)
Out wide separation: 2.41 (87 percent of plays)
Slot separation: 2.19 (13 percent of plays)
Air yards per target: 8.4

The Saints rookie receiver hit the ground running for his professional career, as Michael Thomas caught 92 passes in 15 games to lead all rookie receivers by a wide margin. While Thomas was the big wide receiver Drew Brees was lacking with Marques Colston's prime in the rearview mirror, what made him such a tremendous fit with the team was his ability to separate from coverage on short and intermediate routes with precise technique for a collegiate player. Coming into the season, the thought was that he would take Colston's place as the big slot player, but Thomas was more effective as an outside receiver, averaging 2.41 yards of separation lined up wide to 2.19 inside.

One way or another, he earned Brees' trust right away and led the team in targets, letting 2014 first-rounder Brandin Cooks operate in a role he's well-suited for as a splash player in the deep game rather than a full-time No. 1. Given that Thomas also popped up as one of the 10 best receivers at winning the ball in tight coverage, it's clear this is a player with a complete skill set. Thomas is a ready-made star wideout and he's already well on his way there.

Once the Saints get to 10 win seasons, he's gonna be thought of as a all time WR.

What's incredible is when you actually watch him play. Everything he does is incredibly technical from positioning his body to make the catch to his quick direction and step right after the catch. He's a technical player who has the game from his head to his hands to his feet. Add that to his size and athleticism and he should be one of the more consistent players, barring injuries, at the position. He'll get more attention next year so it will be interesting to see how he handles the pressure of being the sure fire #1.

The chances are he will be fine. He doesn't seem at all like a prima donna type at all. More important is the presence of Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead. If Thomas experiences something like a sophomore slump, those are two good alternatives. Or, to put it another way, if opposing defenses focus too much on Michael Thomas, they'll regret it.

And if we add a legit reliable pass catching TE or a Sproles type satellite back, look out.

He is such a powerful wide receiver that no one has ever tackle him on the first try. He may not be the fastest but he has powerful legs. He has long stride. He is actually faster than people think. I really want to see him in the open field. He is by far pound for pound the best wide receiver we ever have. Watch his highlights and the last game and you will see a POTENTIAL great one.

Give us a play making tailback and a healthy Hooman and this offense will be unstoppable. We need to resign Khun too.

Get that o-line back to dominance and all the above mentioned things become less important.

Michael Thomas is going to go off next season!
