And we, non-playoff team, gets 2nd hardest?

Sheeeeeeshhhh.

Oh well, guess we just gonna have to prove ourselves once again.

I just think the who schedule prediction stuff in pointless. No one has any idea how things will pan out.

Last year this time, Cheifs were considered a contender for the AFCW. Carolina was supposed to take a major step forward. Detroit was supposed to become one of the elite teams. Alex Smith was QB'ing the 9ers. Pete Caroll was thought to be on the hot seat.

You just dont know.

You do realize that every team's schedule is predefined except for two games? You can't say the NFL determines who plays who. It all depends which conference your team plays against this year and if those teams are good or not. Three years from now, those same opponents can be strong or weak.

"Strength of schedule" is completely pointless right now.

Ours is only "the second hardest" because we play Atlanta twice, which is two games against a 13-3 team. Carolina is only harder because they play the 2 2nd place teams from the NFC while we play the 2 3rd place ones.

But thats all based on LAST YEARS records. Teams change. Big time.

Move to the AFC West, and we'll have an easy schedule every year. It's not a conspiracy, it's just luck of the draw.

It's not luck of the draw, it's not a lottery. The NFL arbitrarily picks the schedule for teams, there's not a standard formula or system. They put who they want against who they want them to play and when. It is scrutinized over and over until they are happy with it. So yes, we did get screwed by the NFL again.

And if you think the schedule doesn't make the difference between winning and losing a SB you need to study the history of SB winners. The year we won we had a very easy schedule. I promise you could almost ensure that a team won't make it if you make their schedule very difficult.

I would bet money that the team that had the hardest strength of schedule going into the season has never won the SB.

What? This is completely false. NFL schedules are determined years in advance. We already know 14 of the 16 teams we will play next year, the year after that and the year after that. There is absolutely nothing arbitrary about it. Please don't propagate this kind of misinformation here.

wow. not even close to right. fully misinformed. the only thing the nfl could do to "screw" a team is make dome teams play outside in cold weather. or make them play a late afternoon game then a thursday nighter on the road. or something like that. opponents are picked pretty much years in advance other than 2 opponents.
