Marcus Davenport appreciates 'big brother' mentor Cameron Jordan (1 Viewer)

Marcus Davenport has a resource few of his NFL peers can lean on — an accomplished All-Pro teammate. The New Orleans Saints defensive end spoke about his friendship with Cameron Jordan as they continue to play together in his second year, and how Jordan has gone out of his way to help Davenport find success.

“Cam is like the coach that you can’t really turn off,” Davenport said, grinning after training camp practice on Monday. “But you know I say that lovingly. Because he’s always there, he’s always trying to help me. He’s someone, when I have an idea and I can’t get to my (position) coach, I spitball it with him.”

Jordan likely has plenty to share with Davenport; he’s one of the NFL’s leaders in sacks (25) over the last two years, and seems to be improving with age. And the defensive captain took to his new role as a mentor quickly once Davenport joined the squad. ...
