Making a mix for my g/f and friends who are coming down for their first ever MG. I think I've got all the important MG songs but if anyone has anymore, please post them.

Go To The Mardi Gras - Professor Longhair
Mardi Gras Mambo - The Hawketts
Carnival Time - Al Johnson
Second Line Part 1 - Stop, Inc.
Iko Iko - Dr. John
Hey Pocky A-Way - The Meters
Street Parade - Earl King
Tipitina - Professor Longhair
They All Ask'd For You - The Meters
Walking To New Orleans - Fats Domino
Fire On The Bayou - Neville Brothers
Cissy Strut - The Meters
Tell It Like It Is - Aaron Neville
Just A Gigolo - I Ain't Got Nobody - Louis Prima
Big Chief Part 2 - Professor Longhair
Basin Street Blues - Dr. John
Brother John - Wild Tchoupitoulas
Talkin' 'Bout New Orleans - The Meters
Jambalaya - Professor Longhair
Meet De Boys On The Battlefront - Wild Tchoupitoulas
Let The Good Times Roll - Shirley & Lee
Mardi Gras Day - Dr. John
Bourbon Street Parade - Al Hirt
When the Saints Go Marching In (Live) - Louis Armstrong
If Ever I Cease to Love - A. J. Loria

If it is their first Mardi Gras, then be sure to include:

"Ain't no Place to Pee on Mardi Gras Day" by Benny Grunch. Not a great song, but a fair warning.

You can't go wrong with just putting the whole Rebirth greatest hits CD on replay.

Wild Magnolias: "Handa Wanda" and "New Suit"
My Feet Can't Fail Me Now
Golden Eagles/Monk Boudreaux: "Little Liza Jane"
Dr John: "My Indian Red" (it's not the original, but I like his version)
Galactic: "Hey Na Na", "Wild Man"
mix it all up with some Trombone Shorty (Hurricane Season, etc)

The original version of Indian red was chanted in the streets of NO many many years ago
The baby dobbs Version from Jazz a la creole is the one I grew up with
It’s got Danny barker on vocals
It’s how I start every Mardi Gras morning
That, veal and cheese grits, a Bloody Mary, and some herb
So glad it’s carnival season
