What would be JBE's top reasons for not signing it? What reasons will he give and what are the real reasons he won't mention?

Hearing that JBE will indeed sign into law HB 652 which means <14 grams of weed is a 100$ fine and it cannot escalate from there.

Also found that by law prior to 6/4/21 La had to use the federal schedules for drugs. SB 107 which became act 96 and is now law effective 6/4/21 changes that. My guess is that a legal mind could clarify, but it would seem that decriminalization in La would have been illegal by law prior to that change therefore any attempts would have been challenged in courts.

Present law provides that the secretary of the La. Dept. of Health shall add a substance to the schedules as a controlled dangerous substance if it is classified as a controlled dangerous substance by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) or found to have a high potential for abuse. Present law further provides that the secretarymaytransfer a controlled substance from one schedule to another schedule upon the basis of a finding that the characteristics of the controlled substance are such that under the criteria in present law the controlled substances should be transferred or that a transfer of any substance should be made in order to conform with the schedule in which the drug is placed by the DEA. Proposed law adds authority for the secretary to delete any drug or other substance from the schedules provided in present law if the drug or other substance is no longer classified as a controlled dangerous substance by the DEA. Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.

If it's ever legalized in Georgia, I'll probably give up beer and bourbon. Maybe.

Currently not worth risk of senseless entanglements like this...

13 Years of Hard Labor for Two Joints

Excessive sentence of 13.3 years in prison for possession of small amount of marijuana should be reviewed

I just finished watching the Weediquette episode on this. Holy crap. What Canazaro did to him was criminal. Two judges refused to give him that sentence and Leon kept appealing it. Shameful. At least he is out now

“Members of the New Orleans city council approved a municipal ordinance late last night effectively eliminating local penalties for low-level marijuana possession offenses. In a separate action, city officials also moved to vacate thousands of past marijuana-related convictions.”

The doctors decided to monitor the patient, conducting CT scans every 3–6 months. During the 2.5-year follow-up period, CT scans showed a progressive decrease of the initial right middle lobe nodule from 41 mm (1.6 in) in June 2018 to 10 mm (0.4 in) in February 2021.
