After eight seasons with the New Orleans Saints, running back Mark Ingram had a little trouble with his pronouns during a press conference on Tuesday, the second day of the offseason program of his new team, the Baltimore Ravens.
In Ingram's final appearance with the Saints, New Orleans lost to the Los Angeles Rams 26-23 in overtime in the NFC Championship Game on Jan. 20. An obvious defensive pass interference penalty committed by the Rams late in the fourth quarter went uncalled, and the officials' miscue caused the NFL to adopt an expanded role for replay in the 2019 season.
“It don’t help us -- I mean, the former us,” Ingram said when asked about the changes in the replay rules. "You know what I mean. It’s over with now. I feel like (pass interference) calls can be nitpicky. It’s like: Why would you review it? It can be called any way, you know?
