Mark Sanchez possibilty as a backup if released by Jets? (1 Viewer)

I like the idea. Remember Shockey was also poison until he came here. I think Sanchez has talent, but was never developed properly. With mentorship from Drew and Payton, he could really be good. Also, he's a lot younger than Wallace, so we'd have time to develop him.

Here. Have a laugh. Let's all be buddies.

It looks like the Jets are going to have to release Sanchez as nobody is going to trade for him. He was a straight-up train wreck the last couple seasons with the Jets and could use some time in a stable organization with no pressure on him to perform. He would make a decent backup to go with Seneca Wallace. Everyone know Wallace is just here to be the read option QB in practice whereas Sanchez could be Brees' clipboard holder. FWIW, this is just thinking outside the box b/c most teams have their QBs now and there probably isn't a team in the league that would make him a starting QB right now so a backup job for a stable team could be an option.
Hell No,:smilielol:

he wont be, i heard the cap hit is like 14 mil or something crazy if hes released. they only save 500k by releasing him i believe

I'm actually surprised there are some people that see the point I am trying to make. I know it is much easier to just post a quick "no" without even thinking about it.

Not sure where you heard that from but Sanchez has a 0.00000% chance of being released this year. His $8.25 million salary is guaranteed this season. His total cap hit would come to $17.15 million if he is released.

Next year is a different story.. none of his salary is guaranteed and his cap hit would be 4.8 million.
