If someone had declared before the season that the New Orleans Saints would shock everyone by going 6-2 in the first half and that their success would be sparked by a rookie, almost everybody would have thought Reggie Bush was fulfilling expectations.
Instead, the Saints' surprising success has been much more a result of the play of unheralded rookie receiver Marques Colston, who was picked 250 positions after Bush in the NFL draft. In fact, Colston has been the most productive rookie in the NFL thus far and might wind up posting one of the finer rookie seasons ever by a receiver, despite being just three picks away from being Mr. Irrelevant (that honor went to Maine receiver Kevin McMahan).
