Matt Ryan running.... (1 Viewer)

Ryan has burned the Saints in the past with those legs.

He must run a 21.4 40, to see him pick up 2 long first downs with his molasses legs was sadly hilarious.
When you are in man coverage and the DB’s are running downfield with WR’s on deep routes, it creates a natural out for the QB to take off and run, regardless of who the QB is and his mobility. It happens a lot in the NFL, because the DB’s are running with their backs to the ball and the LB’s are playing the underneath middle of the field routes.

On a similar note, Brees had the opportunity to run for 10 yards a couple of times, and absolutely refuses to run, and he has healthy ankles.
Next QB for this team, HAS to be mobile snd evasive in the pocket. It is an absolute MUST! Drew has never been an evasive QB in the pocket; never. When the pocket begins to close in, the height issue comes into play because he cannot sense the way out of trouble. He panics a bit and gets his feet moving but with no rhyme or reason, like a Rodgers is able to do.
