I seriously. Honestly hope they make him the richest QB in NFL history. I want him to destroy any chances of a championship run once their cap hits over the limit. What will be even more funny is if they don't meet his demands, and have to let him go. :9:

I actually feel very comfortable with Ryan as the Falcons QB. As long as Brees is on our side and he is on theirs I feel like we just need to keep the rest of our talent somewhere close to theirs and we are golden.

Just make it a big ol Cap killer

Ryan is a superb regular season QB. I'd rather him be gone then we have better shot at HFA in the play-offs every year.

But the salary cap is intended to create parity. It does a darn good of job of that. If a franchise is poorly run, then they don't have a chance anyway.

Parity = Look at Ravens. They kept Flacco, but at what cost to other essential players?

I hope Matt Ryan is the highest paid QB when he signs his new contract....like say...$25mill/year, for a 6-7 years contract......6 years...$150mills. contract would be just what the doctor ordered!

That would be sweet!

while I see your reasoning the logic does not follow through to the end. During Ryan's time there we have swept them more often than we have split. In a year where we sweep them, they would have to be 3 wins better than us for the rest of the season. Not likely when we are on our game. That does not mean that we end up with overall HFA, it just means it is hard for us to lose it to them. I actually give more credit to their regular season records to Mike Smith. He is nowhere near the coach that Payton is and yet his teams don't ever take the week off. He won't out coach everyone but he gets the most out of his players during the week.

Having said all that, Ryan isn't going anywhere. They don't have a plan B and Blank does not want to start at scratch again like he did after Vick.
