McCoy (2 Viewers)

When we drafted him, and then signed Nick Easton... I figured there would be a real competition between them at Center to replace Unger. Especially since the Saints gave Easton a 4 year deal with middle of the pack starter money ($22 M) for a G/C... and also traded up to get McCoy... I assumed both would get a shot all preseason to earn the starting job at C.

We signed Easton prior to the draft so we didn't know McCoy would fall to us in the 2nd.

I was hoping that McCoy could at least be average this season. My thinking was that with the talent around him on the line, if he could just be average we'd be fine. But it's looking like he's going to be above average. Maybe even good. If he can be good as a rookie then we shouldn't see much of a drop off in O Line play.
