Melons (1 Viewer)

I have to concur with honeydew on this one. Even melons can show wisdom.

this is not a unanimous opinion among melons

watermelon was always my favorite my grandmother use to add salt to each slice

Boy, I was WAAAAAAAAAAAAY off on my expectations of the context and content of this thread.

Melons...I was uhhhhh looking for something more along the lines of belonging Behind The Levee.

I love honeydew when it's right.

The problem is that it's not right 98% of the time.

My best friend got married ten years ago.

I still talk about the honeydew that was served at the reception because it was far and away the best I've ever had. it was perfect.

But I'll admit, when it's bad it can be nasty

Perhaps it was the buzz that was perfect? Champagne I'm guessing?

Does anyone still prefer seeded watermelons? Seedless can be a bit more hit and miss it seems but are so much easier to eat. And when do you start buying them. I don't start thinking watermelon until early June

Watermelon literally* makes me gag. It is disgusting and I don't understand how anyone could ever enjoy it.

Cantaloupe is good, but it has to be perfectly ripe.

Honeydew exists. I've eaten it. I have no real opinion on it.

*I'm not misusing literally here. It actually does make me gag.

I have heard that in the US what we buy as cantaloupe, is not cantaloupe, but actually a different type of muskmelon.

Of course muskmelon sounds awful.
