Why are my message times off by so much?

Go to "user cp" It's the button next to "HOME"
select "edit options"
scroll down to "date & time options"
select "GMT -6:00 Central time"
in the the box below that select "automatically detect DST settings"
at the bottom of the page push the "save changes" button.
