My husband and I will be coming and staying in Metarie for a day or two Jan 2nd - 4th I think.

Who all lives there?

My husband has an appointment on the 3rd for his last Immigration Interview. This will be so good to have this behind us.

So, I will be driving to Port Fourchon on the 2nd, picking him up. Driving back to Metarie, staying somewhere that night, and then after the appointment on the 3rd, hopefully we will be having some fun and celebrating!!

fat city is the dreg of metairie....it's bunch of cheesy bars in a 4 block area....there is really nothing good to say about it....

lagers has about 80 different beers on tap....it's not as cheap as other places but it's a nice joint....the food there is pretty good as well.....the swamp room on veterans has some pretty good burgers as well......

I own a house in Metairie, but I don't live there. Lakeside Mall isn't too bad as far as Louisiana malls go. Most of the good eats in Metairie are tucked away in neighborhoods, and the bar scene is mostly a local and sportsbar thing (outside of a couple like Lagers).

My neck of the woods. I'd say we could hook up somewhere between Cut Off and Mathews for a cold one, but you'll probably want to get home by that time (I'm off on the 2nd).

Actually I will just be arriving on the 2nd. Probably picking him up in the morning. Then we will have all day....just have to find a hotel in Metarie at a decent time.

While I hate Fat City as much as you, I really like Dragos and even Crazy Johnnys. That is the only time I venture into that area.

Metarie has its share of good restaurants(and when I say restaurant I mean mom and pop not chains, although they have that to, but who in their right mind wants to eat at a chain with all of the authentic restaurants in the area)

Yea for night life you'd do better hitting up New Orleans, plenty of restaurants and bars and things to do(not just Bourbon)

Is Kenna Seafood still open on Williams or Loyola? That was good seafood, except their boiled crawfish were a little bland...

Every knucklehead and their grandmother tries to park in the tiny parking lot in the front of that place. Nobody seems to realize that there's a big lot right behind it.
