Yes, I know it's the Cowboys. Lol
But do you think this move will cause him to lose some of his effectiveness due to extra weight gain?
Enjoy!!

10 pounds couldn’t make him a tick slower and honestly that’s all you need in the NFL. Wish him the best but I think he’s better as that menace all over the field.

I'm hoping all this means is he's gonna be primarily used at DE/edge rusher but still use him in certain packages as his patented Micah Parsons wildcard role. He's just to fun to watch do his thing to just be a down lineman. Unless he's playing us then they should use him as a CB imho

I think he’s such a stud that he’ll have great success with whatever they ask him to do.

Micah knows that’s where the money is compared to LB and he’s approaching a contract year. He doesn’t want to go through what Jimmy Graham did with us lol. I think it will be a mistake on his end though.
$$$ definitely a factor. Dallas runs a 4-3 D so Parsons would be underpaid even at top 4-3 LB salary. He’s going for TJ Watt $, 28M a year, as a full time pass rusher on paper and rightfully so. He could be a perennial 20+ sack player rushing full time and Dallas defense could benefit more from that.

He’s so good playing MLB when teams love throwing over the middle he can really limit them there. In The playoff game they lost when he switched to DE the defense did worse. Edge rushers are overvalued IMO. They don’t win most of their reps, and over half of sacks are coverage enabled.

I guess not everyone notices what I notice.

Likely has to do with the 5th year option clause that Dallas will definately apply for the 2025 season. and a possible Franchise tag in 2026 if a n extension isn't done after this season. A LB 5th year option is much lower than a DE's.

He's always been a DE. They've never really used him as a LB

No they use him at LB.. too much actually for a lot of fans here. The local radio guys (105.3 The Fan) have been clamoring for Quinn to move him to DE permanently for some time now. micah didn't play much DE in college, so when he was such a beast rushing the QB the radio guys (and fans) have been wanting him to move there permanently.

What they're not taking into account is that playing DE full time is going to wear him down. The problem with Micah late in the year the last 2 years is that he wears down from playing DE, so it'll be interesting to see how he does now. I don't think gaining weight will change much because he's just not a full time DE. He's just a helluva player that has a gift to rush the passer... just not the body type.
