after reading your post it makes me wonder if Kevin "Snap Dragon" Houser would make a good middle linebacker. he tackles well and he has great concentration.

My guess would be No. If he could they would have him in there playing the position.

Yes and while we're at it I think Jamaal Brown should be the starter over Drew Brees.

Joe Horn says Joe Horn can punt and handle kickoffs.

It would be interesting to put him in as a spy on Ron Mexico during the last couple minutes of a game. He's certainly fast enough to turn those 40-yard highlight-reel runs into basic 5-yard scrambles.

It would be a total gimmick and probably only work once, but if it gets us a win, what the hey?

That is meant to be a joke, right? I hope so.

He definitely has the speed, and since he played as a reciever he would (or SHOULD) know how to cover well. It is a thought. However, I am sure the defensive coordinator has thought of this before.

speed running forward does not always translate to speed running backwards
Exactly (especially when you consider all the different footwork and angles that are involved). Plus, while he may be able to operate in an offense, it would take considerable time to learn how to read/react to one from a defensive standpoint. Also consider that shedding/tackling on special teams is considerably different than doing while lining up on the D.

Sometimes the Patriots use Troy Brown as a 4th/5th CB, so I wouldn't rule something like that out entirely.

The obvious answer is "no," as you can't just plug any fast person into a skilled postion that requires years of training.

But -- then I recall the safety play in the last game, and think, 'Really, could it get much worse?'

I'm going to answer no...

But that being said Michael always does look on kick and punt coverage, i.e. takes good angles, makes sure tackles, and I even remember a few times when he has saved a return touchdown by catching a guy from behind.

But that being said I would still say no, probably not.
