He should be mvp if season ended today. He might crush receiving records and provided an enourmous % of our production.

A couple things going against him as far as the MVP voting is concerned. One is the obvious... hes not a QB.

The other is the same thing that keeps him off of a lot of people's elite-tier WR lists. He's not a game breaking highlight real big play specialist. He's a volume receiver who makes the absolute most of that volume. Single, double, triple-teamed? Same end result. He still gets open and catches everything thrown at him.

That means he's the best of his kind, this year, and maybe ever. But when it's time to vote, he'll probably be considered too boring to get much consideration.

The MVP is voted on by the press. Thus, players that the press hype,, always win. I would like to see the MVP voted on by the players and the coaches with the only stipulation being that you can’t vote for a member of your team.

I don’t. The press is talking Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Zak Prescott and Christian Mccaffrey. Michael Thomas would have to break every receiving record and score 40 TDS in the last 7 games to even break into the top 3.

Baring injury or Wilson just washing out in the 2nd half of the season, I don't think anything is going to change that. I really don't see any serious competition for him unless Mahommes comes seriously alive, or Rodgers goes on an absolute tear.

Sad, but I think that's just the nature of the award. The media will tell you that wilson was the best player at the most important position in football. We've heard it before, and we'll hear it again.

He's very quick and agile, perfect for Drew. His long strides hamper his 40 time, takes him about 4 steps to get to top speed. Once at top speed, he's not going to get run down from behind. I bet his top speed at the end of the 40 is better than some "fast" guys.

I've always wondered why they don't have a 2 yd running head start for the 40 - that would be more realistic to in-game situations!

Slight tangent: a WR doesn't have to be faster than the DB. All he has to do is be able to get the DB take one false step and then the WR has the advantage!

Yeah if it ended today. But breaking both Marvin and Calvin's record in the same season would be ridiculous. Especially with the added factor of doing it with both Drew and Teddy. I could be wrong, but I think that would be enough if Wilson throws a few picks and loses a couple games.
