MOBILE, Ala. — Mickey Loomis can recall a time when there was this much uncertainty around the quarterback position for the Saints.

“But it’s been a while,” New Orleans’ general manager said.

All three Saints quarterbacks contributed to the New Orleans’ 13-3 record with starter Drew Brees posting another Pro Bowl season, backup Teddy Bridgewater going 5-0 as a starter in relief of Brees and third-stringer Taysom Hill scoring seven touchdowns as a receiver and ball carrier.

But all three could potentially not be on the Saints roster next season as the team awaits a decision on whether or not Brees intends to return for the 2020 season and both Bridgewater and Hill being free agents, the latter being a restricted free agent.

Retaining all three presents a challenge for the Saints’ front office as Bridgewater’s play this season will likely draw interest from other teams and Hill is somewhat of an unknown heading into free agency, as he’s played so many positions for the Saints.
